REVIEW

Located on North Padre Island, JB’s was a gem to be found. We arrived near the end of breakfast and it was a tad messy, but the restaurant had a nice feel to it.

I ordered the German Omelet, which came with a side of Knauzenbrot bread. The omelet itself was fluffy and cooked well, but the potatoes inside could have used a few more minutes. The flavor was lacking in a few areas. It could have benefited from additional seasoning as well as some kind of sauce.

The bread, however, was the shining star of this dish. With a good crust and nice texture inside as well as a delicious flavor, it outshone the entrée and inspired an additional purchase. We left with some apple strudel and raspberry strudel to enjoy later.

Overall, the Cafe aspect may leave something to be desired, but as a Bakery, JB’s definitely meets and exceeds the mar.
